Some of you have been asking me about some "techy" things you could do this summer for professional development...so here you go:

The Top 3 Things you should do for P.D. this summer :)
(preferably with Pina Colada in hand)

#1 - Learn with Social Media

Thousands of educators are on social media sharing ideas, lessons and discussions everyday.  Try one social media method to share & learn.  Create a social media account for your professional use on Twitter.  Cruise through Pinterest and find ideas to “pin”.  Check out Diigo as a method to bookmark your ideas & share.

#2 - Create  a way to Communicate

Make a class website or blog on Weebly.  Create a classroom Facebook page or Twitter account.  Find a way that works for you to communicate with your students & parents online.

#3 - Get Comfortable with the Cloud

Do you actively use Google?  If not, this is a perfect time to get comfortable.  Start by getting comfortable with Gmail and Drive, then be sure to move on to using Forms and Calendars.  I’ve added a Google resource pages to my website, but will be adding more throughout the summer.  Keep checking back.

Be sure to keep Learning EdTech with me throughout the summer and check back for updates.  Feel free to e-mail or tweet me with any questions :)
